About Dream Dance Ranch

We are transplants from the east, having desires for
another style of life. We created a small ranch and
guest operation 19 miles west of Red Lodge in
Roscoe. The place sets in behind the very well
known Grizzly Bar and Steak House. At this great
spot we are able to enjoy views of the east
Rosebud valley. We are also parents and grandparents
roles we equally have fun with. Along with the horses
and several dogs they stay very busy, life is very good.

Steve and Debbie Mikels

Debbie is a registered nurse in Montana and on call along with several other nurses for the Carbon County Domestic Violence group. She is a certified personal trainer and an accomplished ultra runner. She has run in many of the western states races ranging in distance from 13 to 52 miles. Each year she selects other runs for which to train. She is also a well-versed horsewoman and attended several equine classes at Northwest College in Powell Wyoming to further her knowledge. Steve frequently refers to her as “beautiful bride person”.

Steve is a considerably different story. He is a late blooming cowboy and horseman. Recently he retired from competitive strength sports. During the prior 30 years he distinguished himself many times as a powerlifter and strongman both nationally and internationally.

Professionally he has a B.S. in exercise science and has worked as a trainer for many years. He is a certified personal trainer and state representative for the National Federation of Personal Trainers for which he proctors test for upcoming trainers. Debbie and he often are called upon to speak at seminars or do consultations.

A few years ago he attended a superb saddle making school and now makes or repairs many of the saddles used by the ranch as well as others for friends. He supports Debbie in her ultra runs, takes care of ranch repairs and will be the camp cook on many outings.

He heard that Roy Rogers once said, “Get yourself a good looking horse, because you will get old and ugly but people will always like your horse.” Steve lives by that rule and he and Madison spend many hours together, people seem to really like the horse.

Where the Dream Dance name comes from

DREAM - To see visions, images, beauty and adventure as you banish fear and learn more about yourself.

DANCE - To openly express oneself by movement and a celebration of life, events or moments in time just because it feels right.

DREAM DANCE - A period in time where one can move or embrace dreams, see visions and travel to places new and with beauty, a celebration of peace and contentment, the essence of living out ones special moments. Dance dreams to life.
